Goodnight Moon – I’ve read this book to B since the week he was born, and just this last week he’s been pulling it out of the bedtime basket of books for me to read… and listening to the book in its entirety! In the middle of the night or early morning if he wakes I’ll remind him “goodnight Sun, it’s time to sleep or goodnight birds, it’s time to sleep” and he’ll snuggle in to pass out.
Where is Baby’s Pumpkin – Flap books scare me – one just never knows if a toddler is going to rip it off! Ha! But B loves this book, exclaiming “NOOOOO” each time he lifts a flap, fully knowing Baby’s pumpkin is not under the bed.
Trick or Treat Pout Pout Fish – Pout Pout Fish is new to me and while I’m critical of the graphics (why are fish bobbing for apples in a bucket of water… underwater?), B insists we read this book each night. On the last page, when it’s revealed that Pout Pout is at the helm of the spooky submarine, B rubs his hand across the pages, enamored with the glowing string of pumpkins (again, how are they lit underwater?).
If You’re Spooky and You Know It – Nothing better than a sing-song-y book! B’s really into stomping his feet, clapping his hand and nodding his head thanks to this book. Sponges they are!
B’s Memere gifted him a subscription to Highlights and he’s been enjoying them for various reasons over the last year but specifically at 15 months, he’s loving the ‘Find It’ pages!
